Aspects of a Low-Cost Ground Station Development for GENSO Network
Journal Title: Acta Technica Napocensis- Electronica-Telecomunicatii (Electronics and Telecommunications) - Year 2011, Vol 52, Issue 4
Abstract
This paper presents the development and setup of a GENSO ground station at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca. The ground station will be capable of automatic tracking of selected LEO satellites by using steerable high gain antennas. The ground station will be equipped with a full-duplex VHF/UHF transceiver with SSB, CW and FM modulation capabilities and with a TNC AX.25 protocol compatible, that offers data rates of 9600 bps FSK and 1200 bps AFSK for digital satellite communication. The architecture is based on the design heritage of the ground station built in support of the future Romanian Goliat mission. Tests were completed with good results and demonstrate the technical feasibility of the platform based on link budget calculations. The ground station will represent the Romanian contribution into the worldwide GENSO network and it will also act as a test-bed for the GEOID/HumSAT system.

Analysing the Stability of Circuits Based on Operational Amplifiers by Using Frequency-Domain Simulations
This paper analyzes in detail two of the most popular methods of determining the loop gain of OpAmp-based feedback circuits through frequency-domain Spice simulations. The limitations of the simpler method – that involve...
A Study of the Permutation Schemes Used in the Mobile WIMAX
With the goal of decreasing the interference at sub-carrier level, the allocation of sub-carrier frequencies in an OFDMA based system is selective. This selective allocation can be seen like a permutation of a frequency...
An Experimental Architecture For Basic IPTV Concepts Implementation and Testing
The paper describes basic concepts and a practical implementation of a simple architecture for IPTV content creation and distribution. The architecture is conceived to make possible extensive tests. Audio-video content i...
Pairing For Elliptic Curves With Embedding Degree 1 Defined Over Prime Order Fields
In the last years, prime order pairing-based cryptography has received much attention. The embedding degree 1 is very appealing because the computations can be performed without any extension fields, but the efficiency p...
A Simulation of the Perfectly Matched Layer in the 3-D Case
The Perfectly Matched Layer (PML) technique, introduced by J. P. Berenger in 1994, is used for solving unbounded space problems. In this paper we implemented in Matlab a three dimensional Finite-Difference Time-Domain co...
