Edukacja wobec potrzeb wielokulturowego środowiska w Drugiej Rzeczypospolitej
Journal Title: Przegląd Historyczno-Oświatowy - Year 2015, Vol 0, Issue 1
Abstract
The educational policies of the Second Polish Republic towards non-Polish minorities were shaped by its ethnic policy, which resulted in various treatment of different minority groups at different points in time and different parts of the country. However, in general, the educational policy of Polish authorities in the interwar period seems to have been democratic and in line with both Poland’s national interest and the educational needs of the minorities. Multicultural communities could cultivate their own traditions and ethnic identity. At the same time, civic education upheld the perception of all inhabitants of the country as its citizens.
