Formulation and evaluation of Pregabalin Microencapsules: a sustained release approach
Journal Title: Indian Journal of Research in Pharmacy and Biotechnology - Year 2017, Vol 5, Issue 1
Abstract
The present study aimed to develop a sustained release Pregabalin microcapsules by using chitosan, ethyl cellulose and sodium alginate. The techniques employed for the preparation of microcapsules are phase separation emulsion technique, emulsification solvent evaporation technique and ionotropic gelation technique. All the techniques were found to be simple and reproducible. The drug release from various formulations was uniform. The maximum entrapment obtained was 67%.
