Abstract

The trade sector today has around 180,000 employees working in retail business in Porto Alegre , so it takes investment by firms in educating and training these workers so that they are able to provide the consumers with information about products and services. The Unions have a key role since they represent both employers and employees in all working areas, in addition to providing support to companies regardless of their economic size. The vision from the point of view of the Unions demonstrates that training and capacity building can still be an element of differentiation in terms of motivating employees, and this can help them plan their careers better or even be an advantage concerning new market opportunities.
