A Competency-Based Ontology for Learning Design Repositories
Journal Title: International Journal of Advanced Computer Science & Applications - Year 2014, Vol 5, Issue 1
Abstract
Learning designs are central resources for educational environments because they provide the organizational structure of learning activities; they are concrete instructional methods. We characterize each learning design by the competencies they target. We define competencies at the meta-knowledge level, as generic processes acting on domain-specific knowledge. We summarize a functional taxonomy of generic skills that draws upon three fields of knowledge: education, software engineering and artificial intelligence. This taxonomy provides the backbone of an ontology for learning designs, enabling the creation of a library of learning designs based on their cognitive and meta-cognitive properties.

Mapping of Independent Tasks in the Cloud Computing Environment
Cloud computing is a technology that provides many resources and facility to share data. Due to the concept of open environment in the cloud computing the request or data increases quickly. So this problem can be solved...
A Novel Architecture for Network Coded Electronic Health Record Storage System
The use of network coding for large scale content distribution improves download time. This is demonstrated in this work by the use of network coded Electronic Health Record Storage System (EHR-SS). A Novel Architecture...
Medical Image(s) Watermarking and its Optimization using Genetic Programming
In this paper, an medical image watermarking technique has been proposed, where intelligence has been incorporated into the encoding and decoding structure. The motion vectors of the medical image sequence are used for e...
A Comparative Study of various Secure Routing Protocols based on AODV
The paper surveyed and compared various secure routing protocols for the mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs). MANETs are vulnerable to various security threats because of its dynamic topology and selfconfigurable nature. Sec...
Role of Security in Social Networking
In this paper, the concept of security and privacy in social media, or social networking will be discussed. First, a brief history and the concept of social networking will be introduced. Many of the security risks assoc...
