A CROSS SECTIONAL STUDY SHOWING CORRELATION OF BMI WITH CORONARY DOMINANCE

Journal Title: IJSR-International Journal Of Scientific Research - Year 2019, Vol 8, Issue 9

Abstract

Coronary dominance is decided on the basis of the origin of posterior descending artery. There are 3 types of dominance, right, left and codominance. BMI (Body Mass Index) is a measure of body fat based on height and weight. On the basis of BMI, population is categorized into underweight, normal, overweight and obese. There has been studies to find a relation between BMI and cardiovascular disease but there has been a very few studies to find if there is a correlation between coronary dominance and BMI. Our study is aimed to find if there is a relationship between the two. Coronary dominance was assessed through angiograms and BMI by height and weight and statistical tools were applied to see the relationship.
