A Historical Overview of Venezuela-Brazil Relations

Abstract

This article aims at identifying a pattern in the relationship between Brazil and Venezuela through the analyses of their bilateral relations in the last three decades (1979-2009). It argues that the close ties among the two nations goes beyond ideological inclinations and is part of an integration process in the South American subcontinent, inasmuch as it is a result of a clear reading of the international scenario by the diplomacy of both countries.
