A Model of Cooperation of SMEs in a Logistics Network

Abstract
SMEs are fundamental for economic growth in the global economy. One of the modern forms of competitive strategy is cooperation within a network organisation. SMEs in a network are able to compete and perform more effectively because resemble large companies and can establish logistics cooperation. The main objective of the article is to assess the link between logistics cooperation, local competitiveness, and SME’s development. The author presents a conceptual model of interactions of SMEs in a network organization developed after analysing 20 SMEs operating in the region of Jelenia Góra. Results of analysis indicate that logistics cooperation not only affects the competitiveness of companies but also the development of the local economy.
