A New Hydrotherapy Exercise Device’s Conceptual Design with Systematical Design Approach
Journal Title: Gazi Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Dergisi Part C: Tasarım ve Teknoloji - Year 2019, Vol 7, Issue 2
Abstract
Today, many fitness devices are used for doing physical exercises as a result of inactive life. These devices usually focus on fundamentally working of a muscle or muscle group. For this purpose hydrotherapy which is physical exercise in water is presented as an alternative exercise and these fitness devices are designed accordingly to that. However, sports equipment with hydrotherapy exercise usually aims to operate a single muscle or muscle group, like other devices, and it is seen that only a few basic types have been designed until today. In this study, a new hydrotherapy exercise device was designed conceptual with systematic design methodology. The product is designed to be able to operate more than one muscle group at the same time and be used for physical therapy. In the study, systematic design methodology steps were applied respectively to achieve optimum design idea. The aim of designed hydrotherapy exercise equipment provides to users and therapy centers a fitness opportunity for working many muscle group at the same time without needing a pool.
