ABOUT OF SAFETY OF OPERATION OF THE NORTH-EASTERN PART OF THE QUARRY BILANIVSKY IRON ORE

Abstract

Purpose. The object of this work is the establishment and assessment of radiation risks of the operation of the North-Eastern part Bilanivsky quarry, where he comes closest to human settlements. Methodology. Field measure- ments, computer modeling is performed, with the use of analytical, mapping and structural geological methods. Re- sults. The main risks of operation of the North-Eastern part Bilanivsky quarry identified radiation risks (in the case of explosives) and noncompliance with DSP 173-96 regarding the sanitary-protective zone of the mining company. Radia- tion risks associated with the Kremenchuk uranium ore occurrence, which is located in the North-Eastern edge of the Bilanivsky quarry. Currently (at the beginning of development Bilanivsky quarry) radiation level in the region is safe for residents. Reliable screen for this are powerful deposits of the overlying sedimentary rocks (115 m). Originality. For the first time the position of radioactive zones in the North-Eastern edge of the Belanovsky quarry is analyzed. The need of correcting of borders the quarry and the zone of obligatory resettlement are substantiated. Practical value. The research results can be used when designing and developing a Bilanivsky quarry, and to resolve disputes between the residents of the village of Nova Haleschyna and administration Bilanivsky mining plant. Сonclusions. The Eastern boundary of Bilanivsky quarry must be on the 115 m to the West from the nearest radioactive anomalies. The complex open-underground method of development of the deposit Bilanivsky iron ore without the use of explosives and the ex- tension to the East (outside the limit of influence of the Kremenchuk uranium ore occurrence) zone of obligatory reset- tlement, including a Western neighborhood of the village of Nova Haleschyna with streets Luchitsky, Vernadsky, Radi- onova, Pyatnitsky is recommended.
