ABRASIVE SOIL PULP PROPERTIES ANALYSIS IN WEAR IMPACT ASPECT

Journal Title: Tribologia - Year 2010, Vol 233, Issue 5

Abstract

This paper presents the results of studding the impact of soil properties of soil pulp for the wearing of steel 38 GSA, commonly used for soil working tools. Pulp properties were characterised by granulometric composition, soil moisture, and consistency. The study was conducted on the wear machine by „rotating bowl” in the three types of abrasive pulp such as loose sand, light and heavy clay. The results found a significant effect of soil characteristics on the course and intensity of soil wear. The wear process in the soil pulp containing a significant fraction of clay and dust is determined primarily by its moisture content and consistency.
