Abstract
In recent years, the word stress is becoming an important element of linguistic researchers. In the modern Slavic accentology problems that cover different levels of language that are of interest to many linguists. Word stress builds up the sound image of a word; it shapes a word by making syllable(s) more prominent than the others. This organizing function is called constitutive. The culminative function is used to emphasize the idea that the stressed syllable constitutes the culmination point in a word. Also the stress helps the listener to recognize the word in the flow of speech, and this is identifying function.
