AD COGITANDUM ET AGENDUM HOMO NATUS EST (on the occasion of prof. Lesya Mateshuk-Vatseba anniversary)

Abstract

*A human being is born for thinking and taking actions (lat.). This favorite statement by professor Lesya Rostyslavivna Mateshuk-Vatsesa is perhaps the best way to describe the lifetime of our dear professor who celebrates her anniversary this year. Continuing traditions of the Mateshuk medical dynasty, in 1981 Lesya graduated from Lviv State Medical Institute with honors, majoring in pediatric surgery. She has been working at the department of Normal anatomy at Danylo Halytskyy Lviv National Medical University for 35 years. She began her scientifi c activity as an assistant of the department (1982) with a successful dynamic growth from a candidate of medical science (1987), an associate professor (1993) to a doctor of medical science (2001), a professor (2004) and a head of the department of Normal anatomy at her university (since 2016). Since 2011 she is a board member of Shevchenko Scientifi c Society (SSS) and a long-term member of the editorial board of the journal «Medical sciences. Proceedings of the SSS» (previously «Proceedings of the SSS. Medical collection».
