Administrative-territorial units with special status: specificity of functioning.

Abstract
The article deals with administrative-territorial units with a special status as an administrative form of national-territorial autonomy. The processes of optimization of the administrative and territorial structure of Ukraine in the period of modernization of the political and legal system of our state are analyzed.
