Aesthetic Dimension of Arabic - Turkish Literary Translations

Abstract
Translation is an important science and also an “art”. Therefore, as a science, there are certain “principles of translation” and as an art, there are “aesthetic principles”. Translation principles include all kinds of translations trategies, theories, grammar, and it is unfortunately not sufficient by itself in terms of the quality of the literary translation. Because, not function but “aesthetics” is at the forefront in these kinds of translations. The principles of aesthetics inlcude aesthetics subject, aesthetics pleasure, aesthetics value. When only considering the “principles of translation and aesthetics” as a whole, desired success can be reached in literary translation and also “translation aesthetics” can be discussed. The primary objective from this point of view is drawing general purpose of translation aesthetics through pointing out aesthetics di-mension of literary translation and determining the place of author, reader, translator and critic in terms of “translation aesthetics”.
