Aging tests of polylactide/cellulose composites
Journal Title: Annals of WULS, Forestry and Wood Technology; Zeszyty naukowe SGGW - Year 2017, Vol 100, Issue
Abstract
Aging tests of polylactide/cellulose composites. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of the aging process on selected properties of polylactide composites filled with cellulose differing in particle size. The composites in the form of films were produced by pressing. Samples were subjected to the aging process following the EN ISO 9142:2003 standard. The aging process lasted 7 days and included heating with drying, heating with wetting and freezing. Samples were analysed using infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy. Moreover, colorimetric tests were applied to analyse colour of the materials. Aging tests showed an effect of cellulose filler molecule size on changes in colour of the composite materials.
