Journal Title: Revista Romana de Studii Eurasiatice - Year 2007, Vol 3, Issue 1
Abstract
The war between the Holy League and the Ottoman Empire (1683-1699) marked the beginning of the decay for the ottomans. It also started a new controverse between the great European powers: who will enharit the ottoman territories? The city of Belgrade was one of the central points in this war, both parts trying to get control over it. Almos all of the resources were thrown into this battle, Belgrade being considerate the key of Viena by the ottomans or, for the Austrians, the key of Istanbul.
