An Evaluation of the Level of Awareness of Entrepreneurship Among University Students: A Study of Babcock University Students

Abstract
Entrepreneurship is regarded as the pillar of any nation’s economy. It is a catalyst for the provision of jobs to the unemployed individuals and thus, serving as poverty reduction in the society. It is a known facts that entrepreneurs can be care for, encourage, and support while they are growing to become successful businessmen of the economy in future through taking several initiatives by the governments various countries worldwide. It is gaining tremendous societal importance worldwide. It is acknowledged that developing entrepreneurial skills among students in Nigeria would lead to creation of entrepreneurial activities that would result to the economic growth. This study investigated the level of awareness of entrepreneurship among students in Babcock University, Ilishan Remo, Ogun State, Nigeria, and their likeness to engage on entrepreneurial/small business activities after graduation. In order to achieve the objectives of this research work, various theoretical and empirical literatures under investigation were consulted and reviewed. The researchers utilized a descriptive survey research design made up of 200 students as a sample survey. The primary data was obtained through questionnaire which was analyzed on frequency tables, while the hypotheses were tested using regression analysis through the Statistical Packages for Social Sciences (SPSS). Conclusion and recommendations were made on the necessity for government to create conducive environment and infrastructural facilities that will greatly enhance entrepreneurship development in Nigeria.
