An Innovative Metallic Shear Damper for Enhancing of Concentrically Braced Frame (CBF)

Abstract

 Passive energy dampers which use as lateral load system are economical and efficient system. Metallic-dampers which were performing in laboratory and past earthquake are so popular due to economical and easy construction among all inactive dampers. Although, in economical point of view these dampers are unique, using the dampers in usual structures isn’t financial. In this paper is introduced an invent damper which has shear–yielding, after extreme earthquake is interchangeable, so that the damper is constructed and performed easily. The main purpose of behavioral mechanism is damage control of damper and guarantee of elastic behavior in other parts of structure. At last, necessary equations for design these dampers are suggested as well.
