AN UPDATED REVIEW ON TRANSFERSOMES: A NOVEL VESICULAR SYSTEM FOR TRANSDERMAL DRUG DELIVERY
Journal Title: UNKNOWN - Year 2017, Vol 2, Issue 4
Abstract
Transdermal route is an interesting option in this respect because a transdermal route is convenient and safe, avoid first pass metabolism, predictable and extended duration of activity, minimizing undesirable side effects, utility of short half-life drugs, improving physiological and pharmacological responses, avoiding the fluctuation in drug levels and inter and intra-patient variations. However it has got its own limitations its inability to transport large molecules, inability to overcome the barrier properties of stratum corneum and many more. Formulating the drug in a transfersome is one such approach to solve these problems. Transfersome, is an ultradeformable vesicle, elastic in nature which can squeeze itself through a pore which is many times smaller than its size owing to its elasticity.
FORMULATION AND IN-VITRO EVALUATION OF FLOATING MICROBALLOONS OF STAVUDINE
Objective of present study involves preparation and evaluation of floating microballoons of Stavudine. It is a potent antiviral agent, used for treatment of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. In present study...
IN VITRO ANTI-LEISHMANIAL ACTIVITY AGAINST CUTANEOUS LEISHMANIA PARASITES AND PRELIMINARY PHYTOCHEMICAL ANALYSIS OF FOUR YEMENI MEDICINAL PLANTS
Cutaneous leishmaniasis is one form of leishmaniasis that chiefly infected the poor sections of the society. The prototypical therapeutic interventions in vogue are handicapped due to toxicity and an alarming increase in...
HEPATOPROTECTIVE ACTIVITY OF ASPARGUS RACEMOSUS ROOT EXTRACT ON LIPOPOLYSACCHARIDE INDUCED OXIDATIVE STRESS IN RATS
Lipopolysaccharide (endotoxin) produces an inflammatory condition leading to multiple organ failure. LPS most potent bacterial products are used for induction of host oxidative stress responses and liver injury. Present...
DEVELOPMENT AND ESTIMATION OF ANTI-INFLAMMATORY ACTIVITY OF TOPICAL ETORICOXIB EMULGEL BY CARRAGEENAN INDUCED PAW OEDEMA METHOD
Emulgel is one of the emerging topical drug delivery system for the delivery of hydrophobic drugs which overcome various disadvantages of ointments and creams such as greasiness and phase inversion. Etoricoxib is poorly...
DEVELOPMENT AND IN-VITRO EVALUATION OF MATRIX-TYPE TRANSDERMAL PATCHES OF LOSARTAN POTASSIUM
Since last decade drugs through skin has received great attention of many researchers. The aim of present study was designed to develop a suitable matrix type transdermal drug delivery system (TDDS) of Losartan potassium...
