Analysis of Customer Focused Steel Product Development by Using Quality Function Deployment
Journal Title: International Journal of Mechanical and Production Engineering Research and Development (IJMPERD ) - Year 2017, Vol 7, Issue 4
Abstract
This paper gives a prospective view of QFD methodology and reach to product development. The intention is to enable the customers to initiate and interact with the product development process, which gives a competitive factor by augmenting customer value and strong relation to customers, which increase belief in the company in competitive business. The customer driven product development (CDPD) is found through an explored research design along with global industrial markets and its customer. Using the Tool QFD which translates customer needs into technical requirements, analyzes and assesses the competitor’s product parameters, this paper recommends a conceptual model of QFD implementation focussing to establish quality parameters in the steel rolling industry. The customer is involved in all the phases of process development viz. Product planning, design, process planning, operations planning, and forms of a new derived system to the customer. In this paper, the product square bar of hot rolled steel plant has been studied for the ranking of customer requirements and prioritized design. Using this method keeps customer focused reduction in the product development cycle, increases customer satisfaction.

An Effect of Welding Type on the Mechanical Properties of Welding Joints
Welding is widely used in the construction of metallic structures. In service, these structures are prone to failure under different types of loadings: static and dynamic. A welding joint should have adequate strength to...
COMPARATIVE NUMERICAL AND EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF CONVENTIONAL DEEP DRAWING AND RUBBER ASSISTED FORMING CUP MADE UP OF STAINLESS STEEL304
Conventional deep drawing processes are being replaced by better forming processes such as hydro farming and rubber assisted forming. The main objective of introducing these new processes is to improve the permeability o...
An Experimental Analysis of Direct Evaporative Cooler by Varying Materials of Cooling Pad
This research aims to examine the performance of the direct evaporative cooler, by using the cooling pads of different materials. The efficiency of direct evaporative cooler mostly depends on the cooling pad and hence, t...
Numerical Study of Cavity-Based Flame-Holder with Slot Injection for Supersonic Combustion
The current paper has focused on finding the optimum cavity properties to enhance the mixing phenomenon and combustion processes in supersonic flow using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) ANSYS Fluent. Various models ha...
On a Delayed Differentiation Multi-Product FPR Model with Scrap and A Multi-Delivery Policy – II, using Two-Machine Production Scheme
A finite production rate (FPR) system with delayed differentiation, scrap, and multi-delivery policy using a two-machine production scheme was explored by a conventional calculus method [1]. This paper provides an unconv...
