Anglikanizm po Newmanie. Diagnoza współczesnych teologów anglikańskich
Journal Title: Studia Europaea Gnesnensia - Year 2016, Vol 14, Issue
Abstract
Contemporary Anglicanism appears to be in an increasing crisis; according to some, a disaster seems imminent. Such a conclusion may be drawn from statistical data illustrating the position of the Church in the English society. Furthermore, the crisis is reflected in the tensions within the Anglican Communion, which arise due to different approaches to both sexual ethics and church order. Finally, it is expressed in many theological opinions and observations of Anglican theologians. The article presents some basic statistical figures on the activities of the Church in the English society and provides a brief overview of theological interpretations of the crisis, which have been advanced by a number of contemporary Anglican theologians. Furthermore, the author also discusses the impact of liberal theology on Church teachings and its effects on Anglican theology.
