Application of Finite Element Method to Determine the Performances of a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor for Driving a Bicycle
Journal Title: Analele Universitatii "Eftimie Murgu" Resita. Fascicula de Inginerie - Year 2014, Vol 21, Issue 2
Abstract
In this paper, the authors present a case study in which was analyzed by finite element method a permanent magnet synchronous motor for driving a bicycle using the analysis and simulation software ANSYS Electromagnetics Low Frequency of ANSYS Inc. Company. Modelling and simulation with ANSYS ® Maxwell 2D of electromagnetic field in the studied motor was conducted for different initial positions (internal angle rotor-stator configured (set)) δ1. It was identified the internal angle for which the performances of PMSM are very close to those obtained by computation.

Theoretical and Experimental Research Performed on the Tesla Turbine - Part I
The paper presents the theoretical and experimental research performed on a Tesla turbine driven by compressed air and designed to equip a teaching laboratory [1], [2]. It introduces the operating principle of the Tesla...
Mechanical Systems based on Dry Friction Force used for Building Isolation against Seismic Actions
Today there are multiple solutions intended to avoid the earthquake damaging effects on building structures. There are methods based on the use of special mechanical systems attached directly to the structure's resistan...
Passive Control Solutions Applied to Civil Constructions under Dynamic Load
In the paper an overview of passive control solutions used for reduction of vibration of civil engineering structures is presented and the special attention is put on the friction pendulum bearings applications as the ex...
Simple and Multi-collision of an Ellipsoid with Planar Surfaces. Part II: Example
This paper is a complementary one for our previous paper [25]. The collision of the ellipsoid is considered to take place with the main planes of the reference system. In our simulation we obtain the following results: n...
Contributions to the Transient Study of an Electric Motor with Shorted Moving Coil
In this article is studied the transient regime of an electric motor with a shorted moving coil, into alternating current supplied. The authors present their contributions related to the conceiving, achieving and testing...
