Archaisms in Kantemir’s works

Abstract
The article explores archaisms in the works of Kantemir, the Azerbaijani prose writer, who lived in the 1920s. The writer’s oeuvre falls on such a historical period when the Azerbaijani literary language was going through the stage of rapid development. Naturally, this process was accompanied by some archaization in the language. The study of archaisms in Kantemir’s work is an integral part of the research in the history of the Azerbaijani literary language. The article reviews the archaization in the context of the literary language of this period. The study involves grammatical and phonetic archaisms.
