Architektura klauzury opactwa trzebnickiego w czasach św. Jadwigi Śląskiej

Journal Title: Studia Salvatoriana Polonica - Year 2017, Vol 11, Issue

Abstract

The article presents an attempt at a layout reconstruction of Cistercian nuns’ thirteenth-century abbey enclosure building in Trzebnica. It used to be adjoined with the church from the south and was probably a three-wing building laid out around the square cloister garth. Analysis of the building surviving relics was a base of reconstruction. These include: fragments of the refectory, calefactory and the south wing kitchen, visible today in the area of Saint Hedwig north cloister garth. They were revealed and preserved in 1982-1984. During the latest research in 2014 and 2015 a fragment of the former west elevation of the west wing was discovered, being the only outside relic of the medieval enclosure building elevation. Also the structure of cellarium – the only surviving relic of the oldest Trzebnica monastery inside – was analyzed.
