Area Exploration Takht-e Soleyman Based on Metallic Potentials and Geochemistry
Journal Title: Journal of River Engineering - Year 2015, Vol 3, Issue 1
Abstract
The explosion area of Takht-e Soleyman is located in the heights of 2811 meters in west azerbaijan province mountains. This site is situated between Takht-e Soleyman and takab villages at about 45 kilometers of the north of west azerbaijan province. In 2006, several geochemical investigations were conducted into this site. The area is covered with volcanites and ecocene sediments which have been interrupted by the intrusions of granodiorite and daciteoids. Volcanites and intrusive rocks have been altered in a zone of about 2 square kilometers. The alteration is more of argillic, silicified and sericite variations but its severity is extremely diverse. The most severe alteration is observed in the central parts of this zone. Furthermore, limonitization is relatively seen in a wide area of this zone in the figure of veinlets and colonization indicating sulfide mineralization underneath the weathering zone. Secondary minerals are rarely found.

Effect of Submerged Vanes on Intake Ratio and Water Surface profile at 55° Diversion
Submerged vanes are commonly used as hydraulic structures for sediment control at intake entrance. In the present research which was undertaken at the Hydraulic Laboratory in Water Engineering Department of Shiraz Univer...
Bank Shifting of River Ganga in the Downstream of Bhagalpur Vikramshila Setu
Ganga River, downstream Vikramshila Setu (Bhagalpur, Bihar), is shifting towards its right bank with great effect. Right bank of Ganga is densely populated and has many important structures. In last ten years, riverba...
3D Investigation of Flow Hydraulic in U Shape Meander Bendswith Constant, Decreasing and Increasing Width
In meandering rivers, the flow pattern is highly complex, with specific characteristics at bends that are not observed along straight paths. A numerical model can be effectively used to predict such flow fields. Since...
Estimating Earthen Dam-Breach Parameters
Dam failure leads to release of high volume of water which causes huge waves in downstream. Failure in dam may cause financial loss but life losses depend on the drowned zone, population residing in downstream of the...
Assessment of the Possible Extent of Loss of Life (LOL) Downstream of Large Dams due to Dam Failure Flooding
High flooding downstream of a dam could cause severe damages to the people and property. The most important damage is the loss of life which does not have any substitute. In this study, the extent of loss of life (LOL...
