ASPECTS OF MANAGEMENT AND EVALUATION OF TWO EDITIONS OF THE TRADITIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL “TRIO TRANSILVAN”
Journal Title: MANAGERIAL CHALLENGES OF THE CONTEMPORARY SOCIETY - Year 2018, Vol 11, Issue 1
Abstract
The study of cultural management has become a stringent concern, as the results of research in the field are also being implemented within cultural institutions due to the need to streamline artistic and cultural activities. For a manager who organises cultural actions, the post-event feedback, the evaluation provided by experts, and especially by the public, is the basis for any major decisions to change (or preserve) the artistic and organizational framework for promoting the event. The data gathered in two editions of the traditional music festival “Trio Transilvan,” held at Gherla, facilitated a study on the relationship between the critical evaluation of the festival and the level of eclecticism of the participating audience, as well as its receptiveness to other musical genres. Using two analytical methods (Factor Analysis- Principal Component Analysis, PCA, and Regression Analysis, RA), we illustrated the existing correlation and, in particular, we developed a prediction model for expressing the need to improve certain levels of the event. The results confirm the positive relationship between the receptiveness and intensity of consumption of several complementary genres and the need to change and improve the organizational framework. The prediction provided by the regression model is relatively high, with over 60% of cases being correctly framed.
