Association of microalbuminuria with cardiovascular risk factors in non diabetic adults: A cross-sectional study at Guru Nanak Dev Hospital, Amritsar, Punjab

Abstract
Objective: To identify association of microalbuminuria with cardiovascular risk factors and cardiac lesions. Methods: This observational, descriptive and cross-sectional study was conducted in department of Medicine, Guru Nanak Dev Hospital, Amritsar from June 2015. It included 60 patients in age group of 20-80 years admitted in the Government Medical College, Amritsar Results: There was significant association seen between microalbuminuria and Age >60, BMI, Left Ventricular Hypertrophy, Ischemic Heart Disease. Conclusion: Microalbuminuria can be used as prognostic factor in non-diabetic individuals with cardiac risk factors and cardiac lesions.
