ASSOCIATIVE LINKS GENERATED BY THE CONCEPT OF LOVE IN J. MOYES’ NOVELS AND THEIR REPRESENTATION IN UKRAINIAN TRANSLATION

Abstract
The article is dedicated to the study of the associative links actualized within the associative-semantic field of the concept of LOVE. The article reveals the most frequent associations produced by the LOVE-concept as well as generalizes the pat-terns of retaining their functional-pragmatic loading in Ukrainian translations by means of analyzing English fragments from the novels by J. Moyes and their translations into Ukrainian. The findings of the study are confirmed by the results of questioning conducted among native speakers of English and Ukrainian regarding associations, feelings and their complexes that arise during the perception of the corresponding text fragments.
