Asymmetric crying facies in infant of diabetic mother

Abstract

Maternal diabetes is known to have teratogenic effects. Malformations including caudal dysgenesis ,neural tube defects, vertebral defects, congenital heart defects, and renal anomalies are described in infants born to diabetic mothers. However, craniofacial anomalies have rarely been reported in such infants. Incidence of cranio facial anomalies is 1 in 5000 to 25,000 livebirths 1 . The incidence of asymmetric crying faces is 3 to 6 per 1000 live births 2.Here we document Asymmetric crying facies in an infant born to a diabetic mother
