Autobiographism in folk art painting, "My rushnyk" by F.Panko

Abstract
The purpose of the article. This article focuses on autobiographical genre in folk art, which is a rare phenomenon in these sphere, controversial and unexplored one. It is an attempt to consider the characteristics, techniques, symbols and ways of creating autobiographical artistic image in the folk decorative painting, through the example of the work of the honored Master of folk art F. Panko "My rushnyk." The methodological basis of this work includes theoretical – general and highly specialized methods (art description, stylistic analysis) and empirical ones. Scientific novelty of the research consists in revealing new facets of creative works by F. Panko, his vision of the history of Ukraine and depicting it through the prism of his own life by means of Petrykivka decorative painting. Conclusion. This research gives ground for considering "My rushnyk" by F. Panko to be a sample of original and innovative multilateral approach to autobiographical image in fine art in the context of historical and cultural process.
