Bahlul Behchet’s religious and moral views

Abstract

One of the greatest merits of Bahlul Behchet’s to the Azerbaijani people is that he was a strong supporter of the national and spiritual values, a propagandist of the Islamic religion. He carried out the anti-Soviet propaganda for the sake of independence, Islam, and called on people to be free and to protect their moral values. Bahlul Behchet did not stop fighting with the Soviet authorities even when he was out of Azerbaijan, away from his homeland. Despite the fact that he was persecuted and oppressed, he did not turn away from his religion, beliefs, traditions, and thoughts. The most obvious example of this is the work of the scientist named as “Interpretation and Command of the History of the Prophet Muhammad’s Family”. This work was not just an expression of the researcher’s interest in studying and teaching Islamic history, but also of objecting and rebelling against the Soviet-Bolshevik regime. In this work, which provides encyclopedic information and plays an exceptional role in understanding of the national identity of the nation, he spoke about the history and fate of those who does invaluable job in maintaining holiness, in the creation and dissemination of Islam.
