Abstract
The main goal of school education is the formation of the student's personality. Reading as a subject has at its disposal such a powerful means of influencing the personality as fiction. Fiction has a huge developmental and educational potential: it introduces the child to the spiritual experience of humanity, develops his mind, and ennobles his feelings. The more deeply and fully a reader perceives a particular work, the greater the impact it has on the personality. Therefore, one of the leading tasks of teaching reading is the task of teaching the perception of a work of art.
