Beliefs and Practices about Celestial Bodies and Nature Events in Perspective of History of Religion (The Example of Mugla- Yatagan)

Abstract
Folk beliefs and practices of these beliefs in the community are important to the identity of a community. Folk belief is the acceptances that accepted by a large of the community and are effective on the people’s daily life. Man is a social, have to live in the community and is not indifferent to folk beliefs and practices. In Turkish society, folk beliefs about the celestial bodies and the nature events have important practices. In our article, we dealt with folk beliefs about the moon and stars in Mugla-Yatagan and surroundigs, as well as the beliefs and practices about the moon and solar eclipse. It is described the nature events as clap of thunder, flash, april rain, whirlwind and rainbow. Finaly, it is made the brief discussion on these beliefs adn practices in perspective of the history of religion
