Biomass gasification in small scale energy systems

Journal Title: CHEMIK nauka-technika-rynek - Year 2011, Vol 65, Issue 6

Abstract

In this paper the main assumptions of the European Union energy policy were presented. The main attention was focused on the Renewable Energy Sources. Biomass as a fuel for the energy systems was described. The main groups of classifications of the origin and sources of solid biomass, as well as the methods of its conversion to electricity and heat were characterized. The main solutions of the systems supplied with the process gas generated in the process of gasification were presented. Three exemplary installations of low power integrated with biomass gasification were described.
