Biomimetic Dentistry: A Review
Journal Title: Indian Journal of Research in Pharmacy and Biotechnology - Year 2017, Vol 5, Issue 4
Abstract
Nature is our ideal model to imitate which also serves as a source for bio-inspiration. Thorough observation of various dynamics of nature allows in successful replication of these bioinspired material through the application of technological engineering. Biomimetics translated literally means (bios: life, and mimetic: to imitate). The art and science of designing and building biomimetic apparatus is termed as biomimicry because they mimic biological systems. Biomimetic materials have evolved over the past decade by the use of relatively specialized technology that applies the science behind mimicry of biological tissues for expanded use in restorative dentistry. The objective of this review is to understand the concept of biomimetic materials while shedding light on the applications for this rapidly evolving and exceptionally promising field of dentistry.

Formulation and Evaluation of Irbesartan Microspheres
In the present work, microspheres of Irbesartan using sodium alginate as a retarding polymer were formulated to deliver Irbesartan via oral route. The results of this investigation indicate that solvent evaporation met...
FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF CAPTOPRIL MICROENCAPSULES: A SUSTAINED RELEASE APPROACH
The aim of the present study is to formulate and evaluate Captopril micro-encapsules. Microspheres and micropellets of captopril prepared with different polymers through the techniques of microencapsulation were found...
Analytical method development for the simultaneous estimation of Hydrochlorothiazide and Atenolol in combined tablet formulation by RP-HPLC
A Simple, accurate, rapid, sensitive and precise Rp-Hplc method has been developed for estimation of Hydrochlorothiazide and Atenolol in tablet dosage form using PDA detector. A Reverse phase Thermo Hypersil ODS c18 co...
CONTROVERSIAL ROLE OF ANTIPSYCHOTICS IN THE TREATMENT OF ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE
Antipsychotics are the commonly prescribed drugs in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease, which is the most common form of dementia. Atypical antipsychotics are an effective short-term (6-12 weeks) treatment in relievi...
A VALIDATED RP-HPLC METHOD FOR THE ESTIMATION OF CISAPRIDE IN BULK DRUG AND PHARMACEUTICAL FORMULATIONS
A new, simple, specific, sensitive, rapid, accurate and precise RP-HPLC method was developed and validated for the estimation of Cisapride in bulk drug and pharmaceutical formulations. Cisapride was chromatographed on...
