Cafer Cabbarlı’nın Edebî Faaliyetleri ve Aydın Dramı Üzerine Bir Araştırma (Literary Activities of Jafar Jabbarlı and Review of the Drama “Aydın”)

Abstract
Jafar Jabbarli is very popular and important person in Azerbaijan. He has been investigated and researched a lot. In order to better understand his meaning and importance in Azerbaijani literature, he has been commemorated. His house has been turned into a museum. Recognition of his works and translation into Turkey Turkish are also important to be examined. Jabbarli is one of the important literary figures of Azerbaijani literature. In general, he has poems, stories and dramas dealing with topics such as love, patriotism, freedom, equality and justice, individual rights, women’s issues, gender equality, public education, reaction and religious abuse and theatre problems. Moreover, he started to write his works when he was only sixteen years old, during his poverty years. Jabbarli’s work titled as Aydın can be regarded as the play that best represents the second period of the author’s literary personality, which was divided into three periods by other researchers. Aydın, one of the early examples of Azerbaijani theatre, has the characteristics of the early 20th century Azerbaijani theatre. In addition, the language and views of the period are presented with philosophical presentations in the Aydın drama. Jabbarli aims to deal with the problems of education, social relations and workers’ rights in Azerbaijan society due to ignorance. He carried the reflections of these problems on individual life with a critical style on the stage. In this study, it is necessary to emphasize the importance of the recognition of Jafar Jabbarli in order to evaluate both Turkish literature and cultural history as well as Azerbaijani literature and cultural history. In this study, it is aimed to evaluate the literary power of Jafar Jabbarli in the field of Azerbaijani theatre, reflections of his ideas on Azerbaijani intellectuals, and his contribution to the cultural and social life of the Azerbaijani people in the analysis of his drama named Aydın.
