CARRYING CAPACITY ASSESSMENT AND STRENGTHENING OF REINFORCED CONCRETE STRUCTURES OPERATING IN CHEMICALLY AGGRESSIVE ENVIRONMENT
Journal Title: Structure and Environment - Year 2016, Vol 0, Issue 4
Abstract
The paper presents a case of an industrial building in the chemical works, in which intensive production processes caused corrosion and weakened structural members. The results of investigations and static strength analysis are provided. They were necessary to assess the reliability of the structure operating under chemical corrosion conditions corresponding to the XA exposure class. The repair plan, already implemented, together with selected components of the building structural upgrade design are presented.

EFFECT OF SEWAGE SLUDGE DIGESTION ON THE MOBILITY OF HEAVY METALS ON THE EXAMPLE OF THE WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT IN SITKÓWKA-NOWINY
In sewage sludge, heavy metals can be dissolved, precipitated, co-precipitated with metal oxides, adsorbed or associated on particles of biological residue. Heavy metals come as oxides, hydroxides, sulphides, sulphates,...
THE EVALUATION OF PLATINUM GROUP METALS (PGMS) AND THEIR RECOVERY FROM CAR CATALYTIC CONVERTERS
Car catalysts significantly reduce air pollution - by reducing NOx and oxidizing CO and HC. Every car put on the market must be equipped with a catalytic reactor in which the noble metals platinum, palladium and rhodium...
NEW WAYS OF RENEWABLE SOURCES UTILIZATION FOR ELECTRICITY PRODUCTION
Nowadays, different solutions for increasing energy production are investigated in the world. One of the ways is utilization of renewable energy sources in cogeneration devices – combined production of electricity and he...
THE TRANSFER COEFFICIENT OF HEAVY METALS FROM THE INPUT SEWAGE SLUDGE TO THE ASH
Sewage sludge incineration may have adverse impact on the environment due to heavy metals toxicity. Heavy metals concentrations in sewage sludge ash increased in comparison to concentrations in sewage sludge. The aim of...
APPLICATION OF 1H-NMR RELAXOMETRY TO THE DETERMINATION OF THE WATER CONTENT IN CLAY SOILS
The NMR technique is widely used in polymer, chemical, and agrifood industries, as well as in many other fields of science and technology. This work presents results from the use of FID (Free Induction Decay) application...
