CASE-STUDY IMPLEMENTATION IN THE EDUCATIONAL PROCESS OF UKRAINIAN NON-LINGUISTIC HIGHER EDUCATIONAL ESTABLISHMENTS IN FOREIGN ENGLISH LANGUAGE-LEARNING

Abstract
The article is dedicated to the case-study methodology, typology and characteristic feature of cases. Сase-method is stated to foresee the students’ individual foreign activity in the articially created professional environment that gives the possibility to optimal combination of the theoretical training with practical skills necessary for creative activity in the professional sphere. By modeling the real life situation, students assess the problem objectively and critically searching for the ways of resolving the specic issues. The implementation of case-study has been proved to foster the students’ cognitive interest increase in foreign language of non-linguistic higher educational establishments. It is noted that case-studies are extremely rich in content and can provide the learner with the potential to aggregate acquired knowledge for specic language learning as well as communicative skills development. Organizing the process of learning foreign languages with the help of case-study, students are certain to form both the intercultural ability by training the foreign language communication skills in the sphere of professional activity and sociocultural abilities which mean forming and developing the team work skills, being capable of carrying the responsibility for the results, acquiring the techniques for negotiation handling, being skillful in position argumentation, making appropriate speeches. The pedagogical potential of cases responsible for research, communicative and creative skills formation has been characterized. This method is proved to be efciently used for achieving the desired professional foreign language learning goals and intercultural adaptation.
