CATALONIA: PROBLEMS OF INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION

Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of the problems of international recognition of the newly formed states on the example of the situation that has developed in Catalonia. Attention is focused on the absence of unified recognition criteria. Analyzed an attempt to gain independence by Catalonia for compliance with certain criteria existing in international practice, the theory of international law and resulting from the principles of international law.
