Abstract

In 2014 as compared to 2005, prices of spirits in the European Union increased by 24.8%, ie. a greater extent than the prices of overall alcoholic beverages and the prices of consumer goods and services. The growth rate of prices of spirits in Poland was smaller than the average in the EU-28 and amounted to 12.4%. The analysis shows that the rate of change in prices of spirits in the EU was dependent on changes in rates of excise duty on ethyl alcohol. Household income are the most burdened with excise duty in Romania and Greece, where the amount of excise duty on 1 liter of pure ethanol was respectively 6.2 and 3.5% of the median monthly income equivalent in a household. The lowest rate were in Luxembourg (0.4%), Austria and Cyprus (0.7%). W 2014 r., w porównaniu z 2005 r., ceny napojów spirytusowych w Unii Europejskiej wzrosły o 24,8%, tj. w stopniu większym niż ceny napojów alkoholowych ogółem oraz ceny towarów i usług konsumpcyjnych. Dynamika wzrostu cen napojów spirytusowych w Polsce była słabsza niż przeciętna w UE-28 i wyniosła 12,4%. Z analizy wynika, że dynamika zmian cen napojów spirytusowych w krajach UE była uzależniona od zmian stawek akcyzy od alkoholu etylowego. Największym obciążeniem dochodów gospodarstw domowych akcyzą charakteryzują się Rumunia i Grecja, gdzie kwota akcyzy od 1 l alkoholu etylowego 100% objętości stanowiła odpowiednio 6,2 i 3,5% mediany miesięcznego dochodu ekwiwalentnego w gospodarstwie domowym, a najmniejszym Luksemburg (0,4%) oraz Austria i Cypr (po 0,7%).
