Journal Title: Міжнародний ендокринологічний журнал - Year 2014, Vol 3, Issue 59
Abstract
In this article, the authors analyze the 343 cases of examination of adolescent boys in Tashkent (Republic of Uzbekistan). We detected various violations of sexual and overall development in 170 adolescents (49.6 %), of whom in 141 (82.8 %) this pathology combined with varying degrees of iodine deficiency. Of developmental disabilities most frequent was delay puberty of varying degrees — in 49 children (14.3 %), as well as physical and sexual retardation — 24 cases (6.9 %). Isolated growth retardation was detected in 24 adolescents (6.9 %). Of the 170 patients with a variety of developmental disorders in 42 this violation combined with thyroid disease (24.7 %). These results confirm the data in the literature that iodine deficiency is a risk factor for both congenital abnormalities in the fetus, and developmental disorders.
