Classification of the Fricative and Occlusive Consonants According to the Place and the Mode of Articulation
Journal Title: International Journal of Electronics Communication and Computer Engineering - Year 2018, Vol 9, Issue 1
Abstract
In this article, we study the classification of occlusive and fricatives consonants in standard modern Arabic for three different articulation sites: bilabial, alveolar (dental) / interdental and velar. By calculating the four spectral moments after pretreatment of our speech signal, we can classify these consonants according to the place and the mode of articulation.
