Collinear holographic data storage technologies
Journal Title: Opto-Electronic Advances - Year 2020, Vol 3, Issue 3
Abstract
In the era of information explosion, the demand of data storage is increased dramatically. Holographic data storage technology is one of the most promising next-generation data storage technologies due to its high storage density, fast data transfer rate, long data life time and less energy consumption. Collinear holographic data storage technology is the typical solution of the holographic data storage technology which owns a more compact, compatible and practical system. This paper gives a brief review of holographic data storage, introduces collinear holographic data storage technology and discusses phase modulation technology being used in the holographic data storage system to achieve higher storage density and higher data transfer rate.

Off-axis multi-wavelength dispersion controlling metalens for multi-color imaging
Dispersion control is crucial in optical systems, and chromatic aberration is an important factor affecting imaging quality in imaging systems. Due to the inherent property of materials, dispersion engineering is complex...
Iterative freeform lens design for prescribed irradiance on curved target
Current freeform illumination optical designs are mostly focused on producing prescribed irradiance distributions on planar targets. Here, we aim to design freeform optics that could generate a desired illumination on a...
Printing photovoltaics by electrospray
Solution processible photovoltaics (PV) are poised to play an important role in scalable manufacturing of low-cost solar cells. Electrospray is uniquely suited for fabricating PVs due to its several desirable characteris...
Compact pulsed thulium-doped fiber laser for topographical patterning of hydrogels
We report the generation of high energy 2 μm picosecond pulses from a thulium-doped fiber master oscillator power amplifier system. The all-fiber configuration was realized by a flexible large-mode area photonic crystal...
Helicity-dependent THz emission induced by ultrafast spin photocurrent in nodal-line semimetal candidate Mg3Bi2
Helicity-dependent ultrafast spin current generated by circularly polarized photons in topological materials holds the crux to many technological improvements, such as quantum communications, on-chip communication proces...
