Comments on the mathematical modelling of a vertebrobasilar stenosis
Journal Title: INCAS BULLETIN - Year 2016, Vol 8, Issue 3
Abstract
In the present paper the case of a stenosis on the basilar artery is investigated. To analyze the problem CT angiography and MRI angiography were performed. To model this real case a non-Newtonian mathematical model was taken into account for the blood flow, while the vessel walls of the arteries and the arterioles were considered to have viscoelastic and elastic behavior, respectively – as we presented already in previous papers [1], [2]. Using COMSOL Multiphysics 3.3 we performed some numerical simulations to obtain some results with regard to blood velocity, blood pressure and streamlines.

Inertial Sensor Signals Denoising with Wavelet Transform
In the current paper we propose a new software procedure for processing data from an inertial navigation system boarded on a moving vehicle, in order to achieve accurate navigation information on the displacement of the...
Influence of drag force upon the shortest time trajectory of an aircraft
The shortest time trajectory of an aircraft between two given locations is determined using a simple mathematical model. By taking into account the drag force (viscous friction force with the air), a problem of variation...

This paper contains first some definitions and classifications regarding the fluidic elements. The general current status is presented, nominating the main specific elements based on the Coanda effect developed speciall...
Preliminary Design of a LSA Aircraft Using Wind Tunnel Tests
This paper presents preliminary results concerning the design and aerodynamic calculations of a light sport aircraft (LSA). These were performed for a new lightweight, low cost, low fuel consumption and long-range aircra...
Influences of surface temperature on a low camber airfoil aerodynamic performances
The current note refers to the comparison between a NACA 2510 airfoil with adiabatic walls and the same airfoil with heated patches. Both suction and pressure sides were divided into two regions covering the leading edge...
