COMPARISON BETWEEN SIMPLE POLYNOMIALS AND AN ITS-90 BASED REFERENCE FUNCTIONS OF EMF VS. TEMPERATURE RELATION FOR HIGH PURITY NOBLE METAL THERMOCOUPLES
Journal Title: Metrology and Measurement Systems - Year 2005, Vol 12, Issue 2
Abstract
Emf versus temperature reference polynomial functions covering the temperature range from 100° C up to 960° C have been developed for three types of noble metal thermocouples, which are Pt-10%Rh/Pt, Au/Pt and Pt/Pd. Our functions are compared to the reference functions available in the literature. The thermocouples were fabricated and annealed for stabilization at 962° C for 300 hours before calibrations. After stabilization they were calibrated by comparison with Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometer (SPRT) in the temperature range from 100° C to 450° C and by comparison with a High temperature Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometer (HSPRT) in the temperature range from 450° C up to 950° C. The error of fit was evaluated and discussed.

DATA COMPRESSION USING PRONY'S METHOD AND WAVELET TRANSFORM IN POWER QUALITY MONITORING SYSTEMS
The paper presents a new method for data compression that can be used in power quality monitoring systems. Described algorithm offers high compression ratio and keeps good accuracy of the reconstructed signals. The algor...
PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT OF "FIELD PROGRAMMABLE ANALOG ARRAYS"
Field Programmable Analog Arrays (FPAAs) are reconfigurable analog modules introduced on the electronic market in the last decade. Their operation and, in particular, their programmability is achieved owing to the use of...
CHARACTERIZATION OF DEAD WEIGHT TESTERS AND COMPUTATION OF ASSOCIATED UNCERTAINTIES: A CASE STUDY OF CONTEMPORARY TECHNIQUES<br />
Estimation of uncertainty associated with pressure, measured by a dead weight tester is a key issue of recent times in pressure metrology. Though two different techniques have been used in the past yet there has been lit...
DATA FUSION APPLICATIONS IN THE TRAFFIC PARAMETERS MEASUREMENT
In the paper the problem of measuring road traffic parameters using systems with complex algorithms for measurement data processing is discussed. A characteristic feature of these systems is utilising there data fusion m...
RANKINGS AS ORDINAL SCALE MEASUREMENT RESULTS
Rankings (or preference relations, or weak orders) are sometimes considered to be non-empirical, non-objective, low-informative and, in principle, are not worthy to be titled measurements. A purpose of the paper is to de...
