COMPUTATIONAL MODELS FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
Journal Title: Indian Journal of Computer Science and Engineering - Year 2011, Vol 2, Issue 1
Abstract
Genetic erosion is a serious problem and computational models have been developed to prevent it. The computational modeling in this field not only includes (terrestrial) reserve design, but also decision modeling for related problems such as habitat restoration, marine reserve design, and nonreserve approaches to conservation management. Models have been formulated for evaluating tradeoffs between socioeconomic, biophysical, and spatial criteria in establishing marine reserves. The percolation theory and shortest path modeling have also been used. In this article we discuss the computational models that have been developed keeping in mind the sustainable evelopmentConservationists estimate that alarming rate at which biological species are disappearing will have an indelible impact on humanity. Targets which were set in 2002 to reduce the biodiversity loss by 2010 have not been met. The third global diversity outlook report said that loss of wildlife and habitats could not only exacerbate climate change through rising emissions but could also have a negative impact on food sources and industry.

An Efficient Approach of Election Algorithm in Distributed Systems
In this paper, I have proposed an election algorithm that can be used in distributed systems to elect a coordinator. This is a betterment of an already existing Election algorithm (also known as Bully Algorithm) proposed...
ENTROPY CORRELATION COEFFICIENT TECHNIQUE FOR VISUAL DATA IN MULTIMEDIA SENSOR NETWORK
The nodes are interconnected in Wireless multimedia sensor networks (WMSNs) in the form of wireless mode. These interconnected devices transmit their locally processed data to the sink. With the availability of low cost...
Comparative analysis of Recurrent and Finite Impulse Response Neural Networks in Time Series Prediction
The purpose of this paper is to perform evaluation of two different neural network architectures used for solving temporal problems, i.e. time series prediction. The data sets in this project include Mackey-Glass, Sunspo...
STUDY OF SDN USING MININET
The traditional architecture of networks has long supported the needs of the data centers. However, with the today’s heavy data usage by users, the need for a shift to virtualizing functions and applying a more modern ap...
MVC ARCHITECTURE: A COMPARITIVE STUDY BETWEEN RUBY ON RAILS AND LARAVEL
Model View Controller (MVC) architecture is a standard design pattern used in website design or in web application development. It divides a given software application into three interconnected parts, so as to separate i...
