CONCEPT AND ESSENCE OF PROFESSIONAL TRANING OF THE POLICE

Abstract
The article is devoted to research the concept of "police training" in modern legal science, the author took into account the lack of regulatory consolidation. It was found out that the basic concept of "professional training" is fixed both on the international and national levels. In turn, despite the fact that the Law of Ukraine "On the national police" uses the term "police training" but doesn’t give its definition. The research- ers payed attention that till 2016 in the Ministry of Internal Affairs Ukraine, the term "training" was used in the system which had the same components of professional training of the police and, so, these concepts are identical. Analysis of components of professional police training, which includes the primary training, training in higher education with specific conditions of education, postgraduate education and officer training, allowed the authors to identify the features of such vocational training, training as a process transferring knowledge and skills to persons, who are studying; it involves the development of certain abili- ties; the process of professional training is organizing, sustaining and purposing. In the article, the concept of "training" is based on the semantic analysis of lexical items, enshrined in law, comparative legal studies and methodological developments, scholars proposed the author’s definition of "police training".
