Concepte metodologice privind populaţia

Abstract
În statistica populaţiei se pune accent în ultima perioadă pe un concept nou, cel de populaţie rezidentă, în special când este vorba despre comparaţii internaţionale. Indicatorul măsoară populaţia “de facto”, respectiv totalitatea persoanelor care trăiesc în mod obişnuit pe un anumit areal, un anumit interval de timp. Acest articol prezintă diferenţele de ordin metodologic între acest indicator statistic şi alţi indicatori de populaţie, evidenţiind avantajele, dezavantajele, posibilităţile de calcul şi limitările sale. Se prezintă o analiză comparativă a indicatorului cu alţi indicatori privind populaţia disponibili în statistica oficială, precum şi posibile viitoare soluţii pentru producerea periodică a statisticilor privind populaţia rezidentă.
