Construction industry of Ukraine: the current state and its role in ensuring the sustainable development of the national economy

Abstract

The article defines the role of the construction industry in ensuring sustainable development of the national economy of the country, considers the current state of the enterprises of the construction industry, the factors of influence of the external and internal environment, which influence the branch features of construction enterprises are highlighted; A complex of threats has been defined and described in detail, including each of the following factors. The specifics of the construction industry are highlighted with the increasing requirements for the quality of construction works and the extremely rapid pace of scientific and technological progress in this field. The article analyzes which regions are leaders in the volume of completed construction work. It is determined that from other industries construction is distinguished by its products (buildings, constructions), which is immovable, large, that is, the majority of the main production and non-productive assets are created. The article analyzes the recent changes in the volume of construction works performed by types of construction products and presents the dynamics of capital investment in construction in Ukraine and the structure of investments in construction. It is proposed to further use this data for the model of the forecast of the state of the construction industry and its indicators for future periods. The information on macroeconomic indicators of development of construction enterprises is presented, it is systematized and found that the degree of depreciation of fixed assets increases, volumes of introduction of new fixed assets are reduced, the profitability of operational activity of subcontractors is constantly decreasing. It is suggested in further research to develop theoretical and methodical principles of modeling scenarios for the development of construction enterprises, taking into account the specifics of the sector, providing it with all the necessary resources: human, material, energy, information.
